Community Leaders & Students Unite for “ICE Out of Texas” Peaceful Protest in Allen
ALLEN, Texas – The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) and the Allen Progressive Eagles student group will co-host a peaceful community protest this Sunday, February 1st, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. The event, “ICE Out of Texas,” is a direct response to recent fatal encounters involving Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents in Minnesota, which have sparked national outrage and fear.
The protest will be held on the public sidewalks in front of Watters Creek (985 W Bethany Dr, Allen, TX 75013). Organizers aim to amplify a message of solidarity with affected communities across the country and call for accountability and humane immigration enforcement.
“We are deeply upset by what we have been seeing nationally and feel compelled to take action,” said Hana Fayed, leader of the Allen Progressive Eagles. “A collaborative effort with the CCDP will amplify our message. More than anything, we want our voices to reach farther and to show that the community is united in calling out these actions.”
The protest is organized in solidarity with victims including Renee Nicole Good and Alex Jeffery Pretti of Minnesota, and in response to growing concerns over ICE’s role and tactics both nationally and in North Texas communities.
“This is about standing in solidarity with people under siege and upholding our shared values of justice and compassion,” said Jeremy Sutka, Chair of the Collin County Democratic Party. “When students show this kind of courageous leadership, it’s our duty to support and amplify their call for accountability and humanity.”
Event participants are encouraged to bring bright, colorful clothing, handmade signs, and water.
Organizers have a strict “no weapons” policy for the event. The protest is intended to be a peaceful, lawful, and powerful demonstration of community solidarity.
