Collin Democrats schedule May Day protest

WHAT: May Day: SOS Protest – Stand Up for Workers’ Rights and Justice for Immigrants

WHEN: Saturday, May 3, 2025 – Starts at 11 a.m. officially ends at 1 p.m.

WHERE: Watters Creek Village, 970 Garden Park Dr. in Allen, TX 75013 (exact location will be apparent on day of protest).

WHY: Attendees will gather in solidarity to:

  • fight for worker dignity, including fair wages, safe workplaces, and the right to unionize;
  • defend immigrant families by demanding an end to detention centers, deportations, and policies that tear communities apart;
  • demand justice for those illegally sent to El Salvador, such as Kilmar Abrego Garcia, without due process; and
  • build solidarity by uniting across movements to challenge oppressive systems and corporate greed.

PHOTO AND INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES: Powerful messaging on signs advocating for justice and meaningful change to the Trump Administration’s policies; local union members, advocacy groups, and mutual aid networks.

NON VIOLENCE STATEMENT: This protest, like all civic actions undertaken and supported by the Collin County Democratic Party, is intended as a peaceful demonstration. The Collin County Democratic Party condemns all forms of violence and prioritizes safety for all attendees, including members of the media.
