Collin County Democratic Party denounces hostilities

Unilaterally entering conflict with Iran defies constitution

COLLIN COUNTY (June 23, 2025) – The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) is deeply concerned about the unfolding military escalation involving Iran. At this moment, U.S. forces are being deployed without proper congressional authorization. This is a serious breach of the constitutional process, and the CCDP opposes any action that puts any lives in harm’s way without just cause and democratic oversight.

“We are a nation founded on checks and balances,” said Jeremy Sutka, Chair of the Collin County Democratic Party. “No one individual should have the power to unilaterally send American service members into harm’s way. Military action must be lawful, deliberate, and accountable to the people through their elected representatives.”

The CCDP does not support any new wars, especially those initiated without a vote of Congress. Democracy is not strengthened through unchecked power; it is preserved through adherence to the rule of law.
