Collin County Democratic Party to Host Major 2026 Candidate Forum & Ballot Draw
Event Marks Official Kickoff of Primary Season in Texas’ Most Critical Battleground County

PLANO, TEXAS – The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) will host its official 2026 Primary Candidate Forum and Public Ballot Draw on Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in Wylie. This event marks the public launch of the Democratic campaign season in the sixth-largest county in Texas, a key battleground in the fight to flip the state blue.

The forum will feature Democratic candidates running for offices from U.S. Senate to local county positions, who will participate in a moderated discussion on key issues facing Texas voters. The event will commence with a ceremonial public drawing to determine the order of candidates on the March 2026 Democratic Primary ballot—a visual and engaging start to the election cycle.

“This is where our movement becomes a ticket,” said Jeremy Sutka, Chair of the Collin County Democratic Party. “We are bringing together the energetic, diverse coalition of leaders who will carry our message of economic fairness, fully funded public schools, and protected freedoms to voters. A strong, contested primary is how we build the momentum to win in November.”

The event is designed to energize the Democratic base, introduce candidates to the community, and demonstrate the depth of the party’s bench ahead of a pivotal election year. Media are invited to cover the forum, ballot draw, and interview participating candidates and party officials.
