The Collin County Democratic Party (CCDP) invites the community to its Summer Community Picnic this Saturday, August 2, from 5:30 PM to 8 PM at Russell Creek Park Pavilion (3500 McDermott Rd, Plano, TX 75025). The event will feature food, family-friendly activities, and speeches from Democratic candidates—including incumbents addressing the GOP’s partisan redistricting scheme designed to rig elections.
“This picnic is about more than just burgers and sunshine—it’s a chance to unite against the GOP’s brazen efforts to silence voters through gerrymandering,” said Jeremy Sutka, Chair of the Collin County Democratic Party. “While Republicans try to distort democracy behind closed doors, we’re building a movement in the open, with candidates and neighbors who believe in fair representation for all Texans.”
Confirmed attendees include:
- Alexander Carpenter, candidate for U.S. Senate
- Evan Hunt (proxy attending) & Jordan Wheatley, candidates for Congressional District 3
- Anthony Bridges, candidate for Congressional District 32
- Bobby Cole, candidate for Governor
- Joe Jaworski, candidate for Attorney General
- Clayton Tucker, candidate for Agriculture Commissioner
- Sandeep Srivastava, candidate for HD 66
- Incumbent Rep. Mihaela Plesa (HD 70), fighting GOP redistricting in Austin
