Local Democrats set Boots on the Ground fundraiser

Proceeds to benefit candidate coffers

COLLIN COUNTY (April 24, 2025) Billed as a fundraiser to support the next generation of Democratic leaders in Collin County, the Collin County Democratic Party is hosting the inaugural “Boots on the Ground” mixer on Thursday, May 15.

The evening’s event begins at 6:30 p.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. and will be held at the event1310 venue, 1310 E. 15th St. in historic downtown Plano.

Tickets for the mixer are on sale for $50 each and include an array of heavy appetizers, drinks, and plenty of facetime with up-and-comers in the local Democratic Party. Some of these individuals have expressed intentions to either run for local, state, or federal political offices or have committed to actively assist in these campaigns.

“The Boots on the Ground metaphor aptly applies to our effort in that there are many capable, dedicated, patriotic people within the Democratic Party who are ready to deploy in the continuing battle to save our nation,” says Collin County Chair Jeremy Sutka. “Like all foot soldiers, though, they need our support, financial and otherwise.”

Proceeds from the event will be used to help recruit and train candidates for all offices, including helping cover filing fees, volunteer organizational efforts, voter outreach, campaign expenses, and building the political infrastructure required for candidacy.

“Every day, people call our office and ask what they can do to help,” added Sutka. “Attending the inaugural event, which we anticipate holding on a regular basis, or contributing funds to the Boots on the Ground movement, are two important ways that everyday Americans can help. Having responsible elected officials who take their jobs seriously is the best way to save the soul of our country.”
